Whether you are advanced or a beginner.Sheila Webster is a popular speaker at retreats and conferences. Her two Master of Arts degrees are in marriage and family counselling and Management and Leadership with a Communication major – both from Briercrest Seminary.

She has been published in many genres and taught creative writing. Sheila works both in the counselling field and in the publication field, currently she is a book coach and style and copy editor. As Fellowscript Editor she is passionate about encouraging all writers.

Ruth L. Snyder lives in northeastern Alberta with her husband and five young children. Ruth enjoys writing articles, devotionals, short stories, and Christian fiction. She has had her work published in Testimony, Chicken Soup for the Soul, and FellowScript. Her first novella was released in December. In her spare time, Ruth enjoys reading, crafts, photography, and travel. She is a member of  The Word Guild and The Christian PEN. Kevin J. Dautremont, M.D., is a family physician in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and a Clinical Professor with the U of S College of Medicine. In 2008, Kevin was the winner of The Word Guild’s Award for the Best New Canadian Christian Author for his historical novel, “The Golden Conquest”. His writing is featured in A Second Cup of Apple Cider. When not delivering babies, serving at his church, or keeping tabs on his teenagers, he focuses on writing mysteries and historical fiction.

Kevin will be presenting two workshops.

Sally

Sally Meadows is a national award-nominated singer/songwriter and freelance writer from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She is a long-time worship leader and has worked in a number of sectors including scientific/technical editing, education, and administration. The title track of Sally’s 2012 debut CD Turn the Page was shortlisted in the category “song lyrics” for a 2013 “The Word Awards”, Canada’s most prestigious awards for those writing from a Christian perspective. She released her most recent CD Red & White in December 2013.

Capturing Inspired Moments: Songwriting 101

Join national award-nominated Christian recording artist Sally Meadows for this interactive workshop on bringing your song ideas to life! Topics include sources of inspiration; song structure; lyrical devices; increasing song memorability; setting goals; and marketing your music. Bring along the lyrics of a song you have written if you have one. Recommended for novice to intermediate songwriters.

Tammy Wiens is passionate not just about writing but helping those around her be the best writer they can be. She is active in His Imprint Christian Writers Group, Inscribe, The Word Guild and the Saskatchewan Writers Guild. Tammy was chosen to feature her novels at both the New York Library Association Trade Fair and the World Fair, having won one of the coveted thirty available spots from a choice of 60,000 books. To date, she’s been involved with two anthology projects; “A Second Cup of Hot Apple Cider” and “Christmas Chaos.” She has three published novels; “Where a Little Rain Comes Down,” “Making the Bitter Sweet” and “In Search of Truth.” Tammy has completed the Long Ridge Writer Group courses “Breaking into Print” and “Shape Write and Sell your Novel.” She’s participated in critique groups for years and that has led to editing manuscripts.

Tammy will be presenting two workshops.

The Pitfalls of Plot

A look into the most common mistakes made while putting together a manuscript. There needs to be flow when you write a book. It doesn’t matter if you’re writing a biography or a novel, the reader needs to come along for the ride. In this workshop, we’ll discuss what makes a manuscript work and what doesn’t.

Keeping True To God’s Will with my Writing

Is your writing your ministry? Is writing your job? How do I decide whether to write strictly Christian pieces or should I crossover into the mainstream? We all ask the questions. In this session, we’ll take a look at the positives and negatives of the answers to these questions.
